Ukko – a Sacred Island of Sami People

The Sami people are the Arctic indigenous people inhabiting Sapmi, which today encompasses parts of far northern Sweden, Norway, Finland and the Kola Peninsula of Russia. Ukko is located in lake Inari, Finland.

    Thanks David, still in March the sun is low basically all day in Lapland. Someone said that, when the length of your shadow equals or is longer than your height , it is time to grab your camera. According to that we can keep a camera there in the hands all time.

      Thanks Lois…we call lake Inari “desert lake” meaning that there is almost no people or houses, it is 80 km long and has 3000 rugged but beautiful islands…something we want to keep as it is.
