More than 2000 bikes come together at Saariselkä in Lapland every year. They make a ride-together from Saariselkä to Inari village. This year there was more than 500 bikes in the ride.
The noise through the valley must have been resounding….reminds me of the time I was in the Cairngorm Mountains of Scotland and the Harley bikers had a world rally there…it was called “Thunder in the Glens” and it was – and a very memorable sound and sight it was. Nearly made me get a motorbike again (I did say nearly but not quite).
In Sturgis, South Dakota The first rally was held on August 14, 1938, by the “Jackpine Gypsies” motorcycle club. In the year 2000 there were 800,000 bikes! (Record) Can you imagine that Risto, I was in Sturgis only once, it was incredible! 🙂
