Home of my mother. Today the log house is our hunting base in Kainuu, Central Eastern part of Finland. The first snow for this season has fallen down. Tomorrow we will start our hunting trip to this place. We try to find black grouses and capercaillies.
So is that it now for the winter for you in your part of the world….snow!
Autumn has still no really got going here, though there is some colours comming through and like everyone in the northern hemisphere the daylight is getting shorter as each day passes.

There is not so much snow yet (like in the pic) but a little giving light to dark days.

Is that a block if ice in the foreground? brrrr!

Yes, it is ice. Made by putting water to a bucket, let it freeze, make a whole and let liquid water out, remove block of ice from the bucket and turn upside down.

A big forest bird, 4-6 kg.

It is abig forest bird – called wood grouse, too.
