Kainuu – chaffinch take off
click…click

Difficult to get a crisp pic of a flying small bird. It is more luck than proper operation of the focusing system. Here I was lucky.

I know what you mean. some photographers however have a talent to do excellent job at capturing birds IF. Here luck or not, you nailed it nicely. Great shot.
BTW, I still see snow in the ground…(LOL)

Yes Alix. Capturing a small bird in place, easy, Capturing a small bird flying or hopping to flight is difficult. I mean so that the focusing system really follows the bird. With large birds, it is easy, or small birds flying in place, like perhaps hummingbirds so. I do have Canon 1DX, should be the best for this purpose, I have been several hours in the hide with very little success. I have noticed that I got lots of learning, too. Distance to birds has been less than 8 meters.
